I completed my undergraduate and Master degree in France, then studied at the University of York, UK for my PhD. I moved to Cornell University (USA) for a postdoctoral position with Pr Angela E. Douglas, where I became interested in the physiology of sap-sucking insect pests. My project aimed at understanding the sterol metabolism of major disease-transmitting insect, and how to transform the sterol content of plants to make them unsuitable to insects. I have been a research fellow at NRI for the last year and a half where I have been investigating the mechanisms of plant resistance to cassava brown streak virus using transcriptomic analysis. I am working on the insect vector of the disease, the whitefly Bemisia tabaci.
