Elvira Fiallo-Olivé received her BSc and PhD degrees from University of Havana (Cuba). Her current research is focused on the study of whitefly-transmitted viruses that affect the most important vegetable crops and weeds, with emphasis on the molecular mechanisms of crinivirus transmission by whiteflies. She is also involved in the molecular and biological characterization of novel DNA satellites associated to begomoviruses.
