PhD in Agricultural Entomology, 2004, from Kenyatta University; obtained at the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology, Kenya/Federal Institute of Biological Control, Germany. Plans, designs, and conducts scientific research in horticulture in partnership with thematic multi-disciplinary research teams as well as national and international collaborators to develop new or improved technologies, systems, methods and policies aimed at enhancing productivity, eradicating poverty and promoting sustainable use of natural resources.
