Kiddo holds a BSc in General Agriculture (Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania), MSc in Crop Production (Wageningen, Netherlands) and Ph.D. in Plant Breeding (University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa). Kiddo has over 18 years of research experience in the area of technology development to improve productivity and production of sweetpotato and cassava and testing the technologies with farmers. The technologies include improved varieties, crop husbandry, and seed systems. She is actively involved in developing seed systems of clonally propagated crops in Tanzania in collaboration with Tanzania Official Seed Certification Institute, IITA and other stakeholders in the seed industry. She is a project leader of the Community Action in Cassava Brown Streak Control through clean seed Project funded by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Involved in Objective 2 of the 5CP (New cassava varieties and Clean seed to combat CMD and CBSD project executed by IITA-Tanzania.
